Scholarship Information

The Lynn Schreiber Scholarship

This scholarship has been established by the Georgia Chapter of NAPNAP in memory of one of our members who passed away at a young age from cancer.  Lynn was a PNP and loved her job.

Guidelines for this scholarship are as follows:

The student must go to an accredited PNP program.
The student must have finished at least one semester of the PNP program.
The student must be in good academic standing at their PNP program.
The student must apply in writing to the president of the Ga. chapter.
The student must state what they plan to do with their PNP upon graduating.
The student must supply a letter from their faculty advisor concerning their motivation,  and academic standing in the program.
The student can apply more than once for help in meeting their tuition.
The scholarship amount will be determined by the Ga. NAPNAP board but will be no less than $1000 for the semester.

After discussion, the board in office at the time of Lynn's death decided to start a scholarship in her memory.  The scholarship was started with a monetary donation from our general fund, and a generous contribution from Tom Schrieber.   We encourage all those who knew and loved Lynn to donate to this fund. Designate on your donation “Lynn Schreiber Scholarship fund.  Contact the chapter president at ganap01@yahoo.com for further information.

 Guidelines for Conference Scholarships

Nuts & Bolts Conference

NAPNAP Annual Conference

1.  President and President Elect

The registration fee for NAPNAP's annual conference will be paid each year, if money is available in the treasury. They must attend the executive board meeting, the president's chapter meeting, and the legislative breakfast.  If the chapter has monies available, it may offer to pay one night hotel since these two individuals must go to the conference one day earlier.  These meetings prepare the president and president elect for duties and strategic plans for the upcoming year.  They should prepare a report for the chapter in the next month's newsletter.

2.  If the treasurer or the legislative chair has their conference fees paid by the chapter, they must attend the treasurers meeting and/or the legislative breakfast.  They should also write a report for the chapter in the next month's newsletter.

3.  Student scholarship

A student must apply in writing, by Jan. 20, to the chapter president.  This will then be voted upon by the board in order to pay the students early conference fee by the deadline.  This student must belong to our local Georgia chapter, attend meetings, and be actively involved.  A student may show a financial hardship.  The student must also ask her faculty advisor to submit it a letter to the board stating "academic endeavors."  This scholarship is to attend the national workshops, not to pay for a certification review course.  The money must be returned to the chapter if the student fails to go to the national meeting.

4.  PNP scholarship

A scholarship will be given to a CPNP to attend the national meeting if chapter funds allow. This PNP must show financial considerations.   For example:  currently unemployed; employer does not provide CEU funds to attend meetings;  employer does not provide adequate funds to cover tuition costs.   This PNP must belong to the Georgia chapter and be actively involved.   This PNP must submit a letter to the chapter president by Jan. 20 for review by the board.   A decision will be made by the board in a timely manner so early registration can be done.   A PNP that receives no CEU monies will be given preference over a PNP that receives some compensation.   If the PNP does not attend the meeting, this
money must be refunded to the chapter.
